- 2009 Pageant Information -

On April 11, 2009 delegates from across the state of Tennessee competed at the Annual Miss Southern Tennessee Pageant held at Wright Music Hall (MTSU) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Delegates competed in Personal Interview, Swimsuit, and Evening Gown before the Semi-Finalist were announced. The competition continued for the Semi-finalists with on-stage interview. The top 3 was then selected and each finalist answered a final on-stage question determining winner and runners-up.

2010 Miss Southern Tennessee Katie Hoppel, daughter of Mike and Debbie Hoppel of Leabanon, TN and 2010 Miss Southern Tennessee Teen Deborah Hudgins, daughter of Gary and Lisa Hudgins of Johnson City, will compete at the State competition for the titles of Miss Tennessee USA and Miss Tennessee Teen USA October 2-3, 2009.

- Eligibility Information -

Young woman who are competing in the Miss Southern Tennessee and Miss Southern Tennessee Teen pageants will be judged in four areas of competition: personal interview, onstage interview (semi-finalist only), onstage question (finalist only), swimsuit, and stage presentation. Judges will be looking for the young woman possessing poise, personality, elegance, stage presence and interview skills that will go on to represent Miss Southern Tennessee throughout the year. The Miss Southern Tennessee pageant is designed to encourage and strengthen young women as they continue their pageant career and prepare them for the opportunities that come as a result.

Miss Southern Tennessee Delegate:
Must be at least 18 years of age, and under 27 years of age as of February 1, 2012.

Miss Southern Tennessee Teen Contestants:
Must be at least 14 years of age, and under 19 years of age as of February 1, 2012.

All Contestants:
Must not be married, can never have been married, and never have had a marriage annulled. Must never have given birth to a child, cannot be pregnant or be a parent. Please contact the Miss Southern Tennessee office for further information as needed.

Opening Number:
The opening number will give both Teen and Miss contestants the opportunity to introduce themselves to the judges and to the audience! Miss & Teen Delegates are to provide and wear: TBA

Interview:
Each contestant will have an opportunity to meet each judge in a personal interview prior to competing on stage. Delegates are encouraged to wear an outfit that is a reflection of their personal style and that is appropriate for a professional interview. Delegates are to arrive in their interview attire.

Swimsuit:
- The swimsuit portion of the competition is to encourage young woman in physical fitness as well as prepare them for higher levels of competitions if they so choose.
- Teen contestants are to provide and wear either a one-piece swimsuit or two-piece swimsuit of their choice to be judged in during the swimsuit competition.
- Miss contestants must provide and wear either a one piece or a two-piece swimsuit of their choice to be judged in during the swimsuit competition.

Evening Wear:
Each contestant is to provide and wear an evening gown of their choice. The evening gown competition is our most elegant category of competition. Choose a gown that best brings out who you are as an individual. You are being judged on elegance and poise. NOT on the price tag.

Finalist Interview:
This will take place with the Mistress of Ceremonies, if you are chosen as a semi-finalist and/or finalist you will have an opportunity to answer questions on stage. Remember there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to expressing your opinion.

Picture:
Each contestant is to submit (1) hard copy photo & (1) digital photo of herself. The Photogenic Award will be given based on the picture submitted. The pictures will become property of the Miss Southern Tennessee pageant and will not be returned. Photo is to be submitted with registration form and fees.
